About Capanix
Capanix is a small piece of software for the person in a US business who has an audit coming. It has two halves. The worksheets are free and size the audit on the page from the numbers you type in: which audit, the requirements in scope, the evidence each needs, the people who own it and the weeks left, or for the internal audit itself the processes, the checks, the samples and the auditors. Capanix Pro is the record the audit becomes: every audit with its scope, date and auditor, every finding with the evidence it was raised against, and every corrective action with its owner, its due date and the day it closed, kept and exportable at any time.
Why this site exists
This site exists because the audit in most small businesses is prepared the week before from a binder nobody has opened since the last one, and the findings written in the closing meeting are the findings the next audit reopens. The arithmetic behind sizing an audit is simple, the record of what was found and what was done about it is what the next auditor actually asks for, and neither deserves a spreadsheet that lives on one person's laptop.
Who it is for
The quality, safety, HR, environmental or operations manager of a US business audited by a certification body, a customer, a regulator or its own internal audit programme, with one to a handful of audits a year and the evidence for them spread across a binder, a shared drive and somebody's memory
Not a CPA firm auditing financial statements, not a business under a tax audit, not an IT audit or penetration testing provider, not a compliance platform buyer automating a hundred controls, and not somebody looking for a guarantee of passing
What it does not do
- No opinion on whether you will pass: what a particular certification body, customer or regulator accepts is the auditor's decision on the day, and the standards cited on each guide are where the preparation starts
- No financial statement audits, no tax audits and no IT audit services: Capanix records the audit a business prepares for and runs on itself, never the audit a CPA or a security firm sells
- No ranking of compliance platforms and no vendor comparisons: this site publishes no product's rating
- No introductions to audit firms or consultants: we sell no leads and no lists

- Internal audit template: Put in the processes in scope, the requirements checked per process, the records sampled and the minutes each takes, and see the checklist lines, the records to sample and the auditor days the fieldwork takes.
What Capanix Pro keeps
Upgrading turns the worksheet into the record. The checklist becomes an audit with a scope and a date; each gap becomes a finding filed against the requirement it failed; each finding carries a corrective action with an owner and a due date, and the closure is dated when it happens. Export is always available, so the audit history is yours whether or not you stay.
